Review: Paper Towns

↠Review↞

Paper Towns

Hello!
Today I´m going to review a book, I liked it a lot, but it isn´t one of my favourites, it´s name is "Paper Towns"

Synopsis:

Quentin Jacobsen (Q) has spent a lifetime loving the magnificently adventurous Margo Roth Spiegelman from afar. So when shecracks open windowand climbs back into his life dressed-up like a ninjaand summoning him for an ingenious campaign of revenge, he follows her. After their all-nighter ends and a new day breaks, Q arrives at school to discover that Margo, always an enigma, has now become a mystery. But Q soon learns that there are clues–and they’re for him. Urged down a disconnected path, the closer he gets, the less Q sees of the girl he thought he knew.

Information about the book:

Personal Opinion:

I liked a lot this book, I think the mistery that envolves Margo is very interesting, but it isn´t one of my favourites. I was very eager to read this following how much I loved The Fault In Our Stars, and I decided that I had to read it before I saw the film due to my golden rule: read the book before you watch the film.
This is a very cleverly written plot. The trail of clues gives the book a driving force, something that makes you want to read on. It balances the comedy and the diary-like stories with the mystery brilliantly, by mixing them together. The two are inseparable.

It has also a film, that I didn´t like a lot. You can see the trailer here.

That´s all for today. I hope you liked it and you read it.
Bye!

Review: The Theory Of Everything

↠Review↞

The Theory Of Everything

Hello!
Today I´m going to review a film, one of my favourites, it´s name is "The Theory Of Everything"

Synopsis:

The Theory of Everything is the story of the most brilliant and celebrated physicist of our time, Stephen Hawking, and Jane Wilde the arts student he fell in love with whilst studying at Cambridge in the 1960s. Little was expected from Stephen Hawking, a bright but shiftless student of cosmology, given just two years to live following the diagnosis of a fatal illness at 21 years of age. He became galvanized, however, by the love of fellow Cambridge student, Jane Wilde, and he went on to be called the successor to Einstein, as well as a husband and father to their three children. Over the course of their marriage as Stephen's body collapsed and his academic renown soared, fault lines were exposed that tested the lineaments of their relationship and dramatically altered the course of both of their lives.

Information about the film:

Personal Opinion:

Eddie Redmayne's impressive interpretation of an emotional arrival to the man we know today as the brilliant Stephen Hawking. With all angles considered, strength, love, perseverance, courage and humour, this mans triumph in the face of adversity will gain even deeper respect.

Great movie. While its true story is told using some safe and familiar storytelling, it's still a very moving tale told through beautiful direction and stellar performances.

You can see the trailer here.

That´s all for today. I hope you liked it and you watch this beauliful film.
Bye!

Everything, Everything

Hello!
Today I´m going to review "Everything, Everything" a book written by Nicola Yoon.
I read this book last year, and I loved it.

Synopsis:

Madeline Whittier is allergic to the outside world. So allergic, in fact, that she has never left the house in all of her seventeen years. But when Olly moves in next door, and wants to talk to Maddie, tiny holes start to appear in the protective bubble her mother has built around her. Olly writes his IM address on a piece of paper, shows it at her window, and suddenly, a door opens. But does Maddie dare to step outside her comfort zone?

Personal opinion:

In my opinion, the plot is wonderful, I love the way it´s written, because it´s like Maddison´s diary, I also find this way funny, because in the book you can find very cute tiny drawings.
I also love the end, but I won´t do spoilers, so go and read it. I recommend it a lot!
In some months a movie based on the book will be released, I hope they do a good addaptation...

That´s all. I hope you enjoyed

Personal opinion:

Don't judge this series from the title. Please simply don't. You might think it´s the typical teenage series that are boring and make no sense, but, if you give it an opportunity, you won´t regret it.

When I first watched it I didn´t like it, but when I continued watching the episodes I started to love it.
This is the first serie I watched, and now, one of my favourites.

I must admit that the first season is not one of the best, but, in my opinion it does a great development and improves a lot.
My favourite seasons are: Season nº3, Season nº5 and Season nº6.
But the other seasons are also good, but I prefer those.
The acting is really good and there is something dark and edgy about it.

I´ll give you some reasons to watch it:

  1. The story line is pretty much satisfying in the first season. And definitely improves as the show    continues.
  2. Amazing actors/actresses are discovered.
  3. The tension and curiosity manipulations and surprise effects works wonderfully.
  4. Characters do develop through the seasons. They become more appealing and sincere.
  5. Most importantly, this show makes you want to be a part of it. A part of that world, their world.      This is importan
t.
